Brad Pitt has been meeting ex Angelina Jolie at her LA home as he's 'desperate' to end bitter battle over custody
Reports suggest that Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has been visiting estranged ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s house in Los Angeles because he is “still desperate for all the ugliness to end,” The Sun reported. The couple separated in 2016 after a 12-year relationship, including two years of marriage. They share six kids together – 19-year-old Maddox, 16-year-old Pax, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12. However, after their separation, the pair is involved in a bitter battle over the custody of their children.
The legal fight took an uglier turn last month after Pitt and Jolie both called upon witnesses to be cross-examined before a private judge. However, now it seems the ‘Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood’ actor wants to mend the differences as he was seen going to meet the 45-year-old actress. A source told The Sun, “Brad drove into the estate in the afternoon – he was hard to miss in his white Tesla sports car. He stayed for around an hour-and-a-half and then he sped away from a private exit he doesn’t normally use. He was clearly doing all he could to avoid being seen."
The 56-year-old actor has been going frequently to the ritzy Los Feliz compound for much of the lockdown, reports by The Sun suggest. “He’s still desperate for all the ugliness to end, even though it’s like pulling teeth seeing eye to eye with Angelina about virtually anything these days. Brad’s big concern in all this is making some sort of peace, for the kids’ sakes as well as his and Angelina’s,” an insider said. “This ugliness has gone on way too long and it’s his greatest wish for them to resolve as much as possible outside of the courtroom. Whatever gets decided by the judge, they’ll be co-raising the kids for the rest of their lives. He’s willing to be the bigger person, and it’s a positive sign that he’s spending time with Angie again, for sure.”
This comes after another report by The Sun revealed that Pitt was trying each and everything to win the battle against the ‘Maleficent’ star. He has reportedly drawn a total of 21 witnesses to testify in the case, while Jolie relied on seven witnesses. Pitt’s list included Jillian Armenante, who co-starred with Jolie in the film 'Girl, Interrupted', Dr Stan Katz, a psychologist who testified at Michael Jackson’s child molestation trial, trauma expert Bren Chasse, security company boss William Thiel, and Dr Fred Luskin, an expert in “forgiveness therapy”.
An insider stated, “In Brad’s case the list is longer because he feels he has to cite as many anecdotes as possible from credible characters who can vouch for his parenting skills, as well as the kids’ needs. And with Angelina currently having the bulk of time with the children, there’s a view that he’s got to convince the judge to change the current situation. He wants a straight 50 percent of custody, with visitation dates and overnight stays set in stone.”
