Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie launch new rosé champagne together despite sour public fallout

While Brad Pitt's and Angelina Jolie's marriage and relationship have deteriorated to the point where they publicly make underhanded comments about each other, the former couple is still seemingly working together for their wine business, as evidenced by the announcement of a similar new wine venture.

Brad and Angelina's French winery, the Château de Miraval -- a 74-acre vineyard spread around the château (castle) which they bought in 2011 for $38 million -- will be releasing rosé champagne with the help of their partner, Marc Perrin.

"We are working very hard on that right now with Rodolphe Péters, from Pierre Péters," Perrin told Wine Spectator. "We will create the only Champagne house which only makes rosé. We are going to try to push the quality of rosé as far as possible in Champagne."

Perrin said Péters had employed saignée, a unique rosé-making technique for optimal quality, which, according to People, is the preferred method of creating rosé as it builds better, bolder wine by "bleeding" away from a portion of pressed grape juice from contact with the mash. The method is reportedly an antique one and has vocal advocates in noted winemaking regions such as Loire, Rhone, and Napa valleys.

A source told the website that this particular project from the former power couple "has been in development for three or four years", eerily close to their period of separation as well.

The new product (wine) will be arriving in a few months and will be the third one to be introduced to the Chateau Miraval line since 2019. Last year, Pitt had introduced two new rosé bottlings, Studio, and Muse, the latter of which was given to guests in Cannes at the premiere of 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.'

Unsurprisingly, Brad and Angelina are not the only celebrity couple who have ventured into the art of winemaking.

David Beckham had gifted his wife and ex-Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, a Californian vineyard as a present for her birthday in 2008, though the couple has no plans to commercialize the wine and are said to only share it with family members.

Similarly, Sting and wife Trudie Styler own a winery that is a part of a sprawling 900-acre estate south of Florence in Italy. Besides producing several wines named after Sting's songs, the estate also produces organic olive oil and honey.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West also have a three-acre mansion in Hidden Hills, California, which incorporates a vineyard that they are reportedly reinvigorating. However, like the Beckhams, they too are doing it just for personal consumption.
