Bode Miller's wife says her 'heart breaks' for Granger Smith after his son drowns in a similar fashion to her daughter

Olympian Bode Miller's wife has expressed her sorrow and said how her "heart breaks" for Granger Smith, after the country star revealed on Thursday that his 3-year-old son had drowned at their family home.

Miller's wife Morgan Miller, whose 19-month-old daughter Emmy drowned in a neighbor's pool last year, shared a supportive message on Instagram for Smith.

The champion ski racer's wife reshared a picture of Smith smiling with his 3-year-old son River Kelly in his arms alongside the caption: "My heart breaks. Another baby gone too soon." Since the death of her daughter, Morgan has become a firm advocate for pool safety. Recently she shareda few videos on social media showing their 8-month-old Easton Vaughn Rek learning how to swim.

Smith announced on June 6 that his 3-year-old son had died in a “tragic accident.” Smith, who was supposed to appear at a concert in Kansas City on the day, took to social media along with his wife to reveal the devastating news.

Smith also revealed that despite doctors efforts, they weren't able to revive River. Taking to Instagram, the country singer and songwriter shared the news via a post saying, "I have to deliver unthinkable news. We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith. Following a tragic accident, and despite doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived."

The couple also revealed that they will be donating River's organs so that other children will have a second chance to live.

"Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life." Continuing, he added, "Our family is devastated and heartbroken, but we take solace in knowing he is with his Heavenly Father. Riv was special. Everyone that met him knew that immediately."

He concluded, "The joy he brought to our lives cannot be expressed and his light will be forever in our hearts. If there are words to say more, I cannot find them in this moment. Love the ones close to you. There has never been a more difficult moment for us than this."

As per reports, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers or gifts, people could send donations to Dell Children's Medical Center in River's name.

A devastated Smith, who is also father to five-year-old son Lincoln Monarch and 7-year-old daughter London, shared an image of him hugging a smiling River Kelly with the emotional post. The singer's wife Amber also shared the news writing: "Nothing can prepare a mother to deliver this kind of news. We've lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith."

Meanwhile, Smith was understood to have canceled his show for Thursday night, especially after receiving such tragic news.
