INSP is all set for the release of their action-crime show called 'Blue Ridge: The Series'. The premiere is on Sunday, July 28, at 9 pm ET, Doug Butts, INSP's EVP of Programming, shared the news.
Johnathon Schaech will play Sheriff Justin Wise again, just like in the 2020 movie 'Blue Ridge', which inspired the TV series. The six-episode crime drama is based in the North Carolina mountains. Wise, a modern Western hero, works to enforce the law in a small Appalachian town.
In the upcoming TV series, Schaech is joined by regulars like Lancaster as Elli Wise, A Martinez as Connor McGrath, Taegen Burns as Maddie Wise, Tom Proctor as Jeremiah Wade, Avianna Mynhier as Deputy Maxx Covington, and Greg Perrow as Deputy RP. Gary Wheeler leads as the showrunner.
Special guest stars include Bruce Boxleitner, Max Martini, Ethan Embry, Mike O’Hearn, Erin Cahill, Jesse Kove, Lev Cameron, and Jessica McKay.
What is the plot of 'Blue Ridge: The Series'?
The 2020 crime drama followed Wise, who moved to a small mountain town to be closer to his ex-wife Elli (Sarah Lancaster). A big murder happens in the otherwise quiet town, and Wise and his deputies work hard to solve it.
However, the official plot synopsis reads, "Follows new sheriff, ex-Green Beret Justin Wise as he and his two deputies start investigating a murder in a town at the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains."
