'Blindspot' Season 5 Finale: No happily ever after for Jane and Weller? Tearful fans refuse to accept ending
Okay, we need time to process that ending. 'Blindspot' came to an end after five years, and wow! did it leave us with a gut-wrenching feeling in the end! Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) helped solve one last mystery using her hallucinations. Don't forget, she did this right after being zipped in the previous episode, and the poison was still in her blood. There were many hallucinations in this episode, and in the end, we almost lost track of what was real and what wasn't.
At first, the show appeared to have ended on a happy note, where the whole team is sitting together and having dinner. Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza) has her baby with her, and it appears that Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane were fostering kids. Everything seems a little too good to be true. However, towards the last few seconds of the episodes, it is revealed that Jane died at Times Square, just after defusing the bomb. It's a tricky ending, and that's what is leaving fans in a real flux.
Nevertheless, they are shedding many tears over the finale, which is the 100th episode of the NBC thriller. It isn't easy to say goodbye, especially when your favorite character did not get the ending she deserved. "WTF, so Jane died???" a fan asked. "Martin Gero likes to torture us," another wrote.
"First reaction: WTF. Second, I think the writers gave us 'choose your own adventure'. If Jane survived, the dinner scene came to fruition. Or Jane diffused the bomb but didn’t survive & we ended where we began; in Times Square w/Jane in a body bag. #BlindspotFinale #Blindspot," a fan wrote.
"Don't get me wrong the ending is perfect but it’s so frustrating because we can’t know if she died or not #blindspot," another fan questioned. "I think the body bag was to signify the end of that part of Jane’s life. That was her clean slate. #Blindspot," a fan wrote. "I HATE THIS, WTF!" A fan tweeted.
Some fans are in denial and insist on believing that Jane got the happy ending she deserved. "The last few seconds made me break down but I'm just gonna pretend I never saw them #Blindspot," a fan tweeted. "A wild ending, all the guest stars, excitement and drama....that's how you do a series finale! Bravo, to everyone involved with #Blindspot. I won't forget this fun action-packed and intense show. #Blindspot100," another praised the show. 'Blindspot' is an NBC show.
