'Blindspot' Season 5 Episode 9: Patterson is alive to save the day, tearful fans call her team's 'unsung hero'
Considering the emotional puddle Episode 8 left us in, we were already pretty miserable about watching Episode 9 of 'Blindspot' Season 5. Patterson (Ashley Johnson) was presumed dead and the team was in mourning. But of course, Patterson is so much more smarter than we give her credit for, because she found a way out through one of the minor tunnels and didn't explode in the fireworks as Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth) hoped she would.
Patterson knew that everyone believed her to be dead, so she could use this to her advantage. She had to take down Madeline, at all costs. Despite initially being alone, Patterson found a way to get hold of some old allies if she had taken down the Wicked Witch of The FBI. So, she turned to Boston, who was a great asset to the team. And then, Patterson managed to contact Afreen discreetly, who was only too happy to help.
Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams) helped her too, and so Patterson was able to break into the FBI headquarters, dressed as a man. She connected Madeline's crimes back to her because she realized that Madeline was going to squarely blame Weitz for everything. In short, Patterson saved the day because let's be honest, the team can't survive for a minute without her planning. She's the brains of the group, sigh.
Fans are more than happy that she wasn't dead. "I am so happy Patterson is alive what a twist man bravo @NBCBlindspot!!!!!!!! #Blindspot," a fan wrote. "Thank goodness Patterson is alive," another tweeted. "MY GIRL PATTERSON IS ALIVE AND I KNEW IT DEEP DOWN IN MY HEART BC THEY COULDNT KILL HER OFF BUT THIS EPISODE IS GONNA GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK #Blindspot," another fan wrote.

Well, that's one of the only good things about this because Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams) was shot and Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) was zipped. So for all we know, she has lost her memory. 'Blindspot' airs on NBC on Thursdays at 9 pm.
