Blanket Jackson might be camera shy but, being the youngest son of 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson, running away from the paparazzi makes little sense for him. Blanket was spotted on a rare public outing in Calabasas recently.

The 16-year-old wore a grey Spider-Man t-shirt and was seen picking up a number of books at Barnes & Noble. It was a casual outing for the 'Thriller' singer's third child who went to the bookstore wearing black shorts under the shirt.

Blanket, whose real name is Prince Michael Jackson II, seemed to be taking advantage of his winter break by picking up some reading material. On his low-key outing, he was seen sporting a pair of grey sneakers while he let his long tresses tumble freely over his shoulders.

Before his death earlier this year, Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson said that Blanket "reminds him the most of" his late son Michael. He revealed on his official website, "You are like your father in so many ways, and you remind me most of him."

Before his passing in June this year at the age of 89, it was revealed that Joe was on his deathbed and later hospitalized as he battled stage four pancreatic cancer. He suffered from a variety of ailments in recent years, including dementia, strokes, and at least one heart attack.

Moreover, he had been injured in a car accident last year. There were also some reports about a rift between members of the Jackson family and Joe Jackson's inner circle as to who gets access to him. "No one knew what was going on — we shouldn't have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this," Jermaine Jackson said at the time.

The Jackson family later reunited for the private funeral of Joe Jackson at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, the same place where Michael Jackson is entombed. He'll be forever remembered as the patriarch of music dynasty and for establishing the careers such as The Jackson 5 and Janet Jackson.

Joe's children, Janet Jackson and Jackie Jackson attended the funeral with many other close family and friends. Jackie Jackson also shared a photograph on his social media which shows him getting ready to attend the funeral service. La Toya Jackson took to Twitter to write, "I will always love you! You gave us strength, you made us, one of the most famous families, in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together, and how you told me how much you cared. #RIP Joe Jackson."
