'Black Lightning' Season 3: From Rebel Henderson to Blackbird, here are all the coolest picks from the new season
'Black Lightning' Season 3 will be remembered as the season when 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' finally brought Black Lightning / Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) and his family to the main Arrowverse Earth.
Episode 13 will be introducing 'Masked Singer' Season 2 winner Wayne Brady as the metahuman Gravedigger though, which we're sure is going to be a pretty awesome addition to the show.
But that said, Season 3 already added a lot of cool things to the world of 'Black Lightning' and was by far one of the best seasons of the show so far. Which is why we decided to present to you our pick of the best new things introduced to 'Black Lightning' in Season 3.
Rebel Henderson
Inspector William Henderson (Damon Gupton) has generally been a real straight arrow since the very beginning of the show but once Agent Odell (Bill Duke) and the ASA took over his city, Henderson found the rebel within. Nobody expected Henderson to be the head of the resistance but once the truth was revealed, it all just made so much sense and it's been a great new evolution to the character.
Blackbird punching in the dead of night
As Thunder, Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) was always in her father's shadow but as Blackbird, the figurehead of the resistance against the ASA, she truly became her own woman. Did she make some questionable choices? Maybe, but it was still nice to see Anissa find her own place as a hero.
Earth-Force / Geo-Something
Honestly, the second we found out that Markovia would be appearing on the show, we knew it was a matter of time before some version of Geo-Force, who is a Markovian prince in the comics, made his way to the show. Introduced in Episode 3, Brandon (Jahking Guillory) has been an excellent addition to the show and his relationship with Jennifer Pierce / Lightning (China Anne McClain) was absolutely delightful.
The deadly new Painkiller
Khalil Payne / Painkiller (Jordan Calloway) has always been a fan-favorite but in Season 3, we saw him unleashed like never before. Granted, Painkiller was a villainous assassin, a sadistic monster who only existed to kill, but that said, he was so very cool. Plus, Jordan Calloway delivered one of the best performances ever on the show, portraying both the murderous Painkiller persona and the real Khalil to perfection.
The coolest suit you've ever seen
Oh, that suit. Have you ever seen anything more beautiful? Black Lightning's new comics-accurate suit isn't just the coolest outfit we've seen on the show, it's probably the coolest super-suit in the Arrowverse. Cress Williams actually said in an interview that all the other shows' actors were very impressed with his suit when he met them all on set for 'Crisis' and we can totally see why.
Props to the costume department for delivering this true masterpiece of an outfit.
