'Black Lightning': Brandon teases his superhero name and has fans excited for an Outsiders reunion

The young metahuman teased his superhero identity, linking him to Geo-Force of the comics, who also teamed up with Black Lightning on the Outsiders

Spoiler alert for Season 3, Episode 11 of 'Black Lightning' 

Brandon (Jahking Guillory) revealed a connection to the comics that has been brewing for a while. Debuting his superhero name this episode, or at least teasing it, the show confirms that Brandon is indeed the Arrowverse's version of royal Markovian superhero, Geo-Force. 

Debuting in 'Brave and the Bold' #200 in 1983, the comics version of Geo-Force has most notably been a member of the Outsiders team along with Black Lightning. The version seen on 'Black Lightning' is of course, very different — being black, not a prince, in addition to Dr Jace (Jennifer Riker) having killed his mother instead of being the ally who gave him his powers. Even so, Brandon has dropped enough hints for fans to have guessed his superheroic identity ages ago.

"We called that thing like 7 episodes ago, but it's still cool to see them hint at it," one fan said on Twitter. With the changes to the character, however, the reveal took at least some by surprise, with one fan tweeting, "Wait a minute, Brandon is Geo-Force?!?!"

Brandon did not actually pick out the full name, however, instead only teasing the identity by saying "Geo", but that was enough to get fans excited for more. "You were onto something with that 'Geo'. May want to add a bit of 'Force' to it, though," encouraged one fan, with another feeling that Brandon's superhero name was not the only thing being teased, tweeting, "Brandon almost used the name 'Geo-Force' Can you say 'Outsiders?'"

"Well, with Katana and @blacklightning now on Earth Prime, we're only two members short of an Outsiders reunion," pointed out one fan, in the hopes of an Outsiders special.

The Outsiders have already been hinted at in the show, with comics featuring their adventures appearing on set. "I love the fact that Brandon is geeking out about the possibility of becoming a superhero and joining the team," said one tweet.

For now, however, it's just a tease, and the Black Lightning team has bigger things to worry about with the ASA occupation and the Markovians at their door.
