Bindi Irwin pays tribute to late father Steve by sharing touching video clip of him playing with her as a child
Bindi Irwin posted a truly heartwarming video montage from her childhood as a tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, on Australian Father's Day, September 1.
The video showed a number of touching moments when she played with the Crocodile Hunter and her mother as a baby. The video showed Steve entertaining his daughter with soft toys of a snake and a crocodile—animals that he used to encounter in real life as a zookeeper and a conservationist.
In some of the clips, Steve hilariously acted out scenes were he would tackle various toy reptiles in front of Bindi. "And it gets daddy... And daddy grabs the crocodile... And he's bitting daddy's arm," Steve is heard saying as he rolled on the ground simulating a real-life fight. All the while, Bindi and her mother Terri can be seen laughing at his enthusiasm.
In another clip from the video, a proud Steve can be heard cooing: "Look at my baby." The video then cuts to Steve helping Bindi walk by holding her hands as they cross state lines from New South Wales into Queensland.
"It’s Father’s Day here in Australia. Reflecting on these wonderful moments. Hug the people in your life who bring light to your heart and always remember that love lasts forever," Bindi captioned the video.
The post was flooded with comments and tributes from Steve's and Bindi's admirers. "This is the best. Can see so much love and admiration in your eyes as you watch him. So beautiful," wrote a fan, while another commented, "Your dad was awesome, amazing and a great man and deeply missed! I miss watching him on tv!"
Bindi was eight years old when 44-year-old Steve was killed after being stung in the chest by a stingray 13 years ago. Apart from his wife and daughter, he also left behind a younger son, Robert, who is now 15 years old.
Bindi is now engaged to her boyfriend of six years Chandler Powell after accepting his proposal back in July on her 21st birthday at Australia Zoo. She plans to have her brother walk her down the aisle in the memory of their father. "I know you'd be beaming with pride when the time comes that he walks me down the aisle," Bindi said on social media, Daily Mail reported.
