Nina Jankowicz, who has been appointed the executive director of the Department of Homeland Security's new Disinformation Governance Board, was President Joe Biden's pick. But she has started off on a disastrous note after one of her TikTok videos, posted in February 2021, resurfaced. The video shows Jankowicz singing while claiming she is Mary Poppins, the fictional children's nanny. Parodying the character's signature song 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,' she says, “Information laundering is really quite ferocious. It’s when a huckster takes some lies and makes them sound precocious, by saying them in Congress or a mainstream outlet, so disinformation’s origins are slightly less atrocious.”

In the clip, which has now gone viral, she also sings, “When Rudy Giuliani shared bad intel from Ukraine. Or when TikTok influencers say COVID can’t cause pain. They’re laundering disinfo and we really should take note. And not support their lies with our wallet, voice or vote.” The bizarre social media share has reportedly added more doubts regarding her appointment as critics have already shown their skepticism about whether she is fit for the job.

Taking to Twitter, Donald Trump Jr made fun of Jankowicz as he wrote: “Seems like an obvious and respectable choice to head the Ministry of Truth. The adults are back in charge folks.” “Nina Jankowicz is the whack a doodle Biden put in charge of the Ministry of Truth. Everything I said about Ukraine, Lap Top from Hell and the Irregularities and Illegal activities of the 2020 election has been proven and verified as true,” Rudy Giuliani shared. Columnist and author David Marcus added: “I’d like to apologize for this on behalf of all theater people.”

Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Karl Rove, told Fox News: “What the heck is going on here? I mean, what? Who made this decision? I mean, this is an important board. Its job is to help deal with misinformation being fed into America by foreign actors, both state and non-state actors. And they put in charge of it a political hack.”

He also added: “If you want to put somebody in charge of this, you better have somebody who is not known for being the Mary Poppins TikTok lookalike but is actually a substantive, thoughtful person who can give the American people confidence when they speak out and say this is an effort by a foreign actor, state or non-state, to undermine confidence in American institutions. This woman has no ability to do that. None at all.”

Tucker Carlson called Jankowicz “the most ridiculous of all in Biden's Ministry of Truth”. Referring to her video, he noted: “That's now a law enforcement official. It's also the person you just saw, an individual who brags about getting a master’s degree from Georgetown University. In case you're wondering if the entire academic credentialing machine that sustains America's ruling class is, in fact, a joke? Spoiler alert. Yes, it is a joke.”

“This is somebody with so few useful skills that she describes herself in the first words of her own bio as an ‘internationally recognized expert on disinformation,’ as if that's a job of some sort. Imagine if one of your kids grew up to be an internationally recognized expert on disinformation. The shame you would feel, the pain of knowing that truly and unequivocally, you had failed as a parent,” joked Carlson.
