VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA: Controversial reality TV series 'Beyond Scared Straight' star Ashley Tropez was discovered dead in a derelict home on Friday, August 26, in Victorville, California. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department issued a release on Saturday that read that "officers were called about a dead body inside an abandoned house in the 16600 block of Victor Street" at 11.10 am local time on Friday. Tropez appeared on the controversial and popular show way in 2011.

Cops have arrested a woman they suspect of killing the 24-year-old. After investigation, authorities suspect that Alexis Call, also 24, is responsible for her death. Police believe Call and Tropez may have been squatting at the home together before the tragic incident. Call was arrested on the same day Tropez was found dead and booked on a charge of murder. According to People, she is being held at the High Desert Detention Center for PC 187(A)-Murder and appeared in Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday for the murder charge. Call also was due in court on Monday on a separate charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.

When Tropez was just 17 years old, she was brought onto the Emmy-nominated series, which ran its last episode in 2015, to help set her on a better path. She had joined the show for allegedly “fighting, getting in trouble and selling weed,” as well as identifying as a gang member. The series provided “programs for troubled teens in which inmates reveal the realities of prison life in the hope of deterring them from a life of crime,” according to the show’s website.

Despite the harsh realities she faced on the show in 2011, Tropez spoke about her experience a year later and said it didn’t change anything for her. “I’m still the same person,” Tropez said at the time. “I just be everywhere, from friends to family’s houses. Just chilling.”

Twitter users also reacted to the news of Tropez's death. One user tweeted, "Woke up this morning, scrolling down on twitter finding out that #AshleyTropez from Beyond Scaed Straight has be murdered condolences to the family."

Another user tweeted "#Beyondscaredstraight Ashley tropez has been murdered condolences to her family I just finished rewatching this show bro."

"When they said “squatter Ashley Tropez” I went head and exited out like have do y’all not have the tiniest bit of respect?" tweeted another user.
