MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce and Jay-Z recently made headlines for purchasing a 30,000-square-foot Malibu mansion for a jaw-dropping $200 million. The extravagant price tag not only sets a record for the most expensive home ever sold in the state but also places it among the most costly residential properties in the entire United States.

Situated on a cliff with stunning views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Malibu mansion undeniably boasts an enviable location. However, the couple's lavish acquisition did not receive a warm reception on social media, as users expressed mixed opinions about the mansion's design and the perceived insensitivity of its astronomical price.

The recently purchased home of Jay-Z and Beyonce is hailed as an architectural marvel, crafted by the esteemed Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Notably, Ando is also the creative force behind Kanye West's Malibu mansion, which the rapper acquired during his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

Originally owned and constructed by William Bell, a prominent art collector, the house underwent a painstaking 15-year construction process. The remarkable all-concrete property is situated on a sprawling eight-acre plot of land, nestled within the gated Paradise Cove area, also referred to as the Billionaires' Row, affording breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

Marking their second significant real estate acquisition in the Los Angeles region, the Malibu property is a notable addition to Beyonce and Jay-Z's portfolio. In 2017, the couple made headlines with their purchase of the iconic 30,000-square-foot Bel-Air mega-mansion, a transaction amounting to $88 million. Reports indicate that they secured a mortgage of $52.8 million to finalize the deal and invested an additional $800,000 in renovations, elevating the property's value to surpass the impressive $100 million milestone.

'Probably paid for the view or maybe there's a hidden house underground!'

When the news become public, social media users quickly took to Twitter to drop their two cents at the time. Internet users criticized the pair's home claiming it looked like a concrete box. One user tweeted, "It looke like something I built with lego as a kid." Another added, "So oppressed…" A third claimed, "Nice concrete box when are they gonna finish it?" A fourth tweeted, "Maybe on the inside is nicer coz if thats the house than its disappointing for that price. Its such an ugly block concrete house. Probably paid for the view or maybe theres a hidden house underground." "Not even better than the house they leaving behind," chimed another.
