LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck appeared dejected while having a deep conversation with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Wednesday, May 17. At the same time, the exes showcased the epitome of good co-parenting behavior when they reunited in Los Angeles to drop their kids off at school.

The former couple -- who share daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14, and son Samuel, 11 — appeared to have a serious conversation as they took a stroll alongside each other in the Brentwood neighborhood. Garner dropped off a tray of treats at their kids' school before returning to her car, where she and Affleck continued to chat. The photos emerged about a week after the 'Argo' star was caught wagging a finger at his current wife, Jennifer Lopez, in their SUV.

The 'Good Will Hunting' star carried a cup of morning joe while strolling alongside the 'Dallas Buyers Club' actress, 51, who had opted for a sporty ensemble, wearing a pair of blue leggings with a grey pullover.

Garner completed the look with calf-length socks, running shoes, and a cute pink baseball cap. Affleck was later seen smiling as he walked back to his car with his son.

The snaps emerged nearly a week after Affleck appeared to slam a car door on Lopez in a viral video. The clip shows the 'Gone Baby Gone' star walking in front of his wife to their Mercedes while toting an iced coffee. He then opens the door for the 'On the floor' hitmaker, who slips into the passenger seat. Affleck then shuts the door rather harshly, even following through with a hand gesture to emphasize closing it, leading fans to question his mood.

A couple of days later, the pair appeared to have another icy exchange on the red carpet at the premiere of Lopez's new movie, 'The Mother.' Affleck looked annoyed as he pointed his fingers at the 'Ain't Your Mama' singer, whose expressions appeared to suggest they were having a disagreement. A professional lip reader, however, later told the Daily Mail that the couple was only discussing positioning before posing for the cameras.

Coming back to Affleck and Garner, their kids certainly adore both their parents. According to Garner, they might like their dad's films a little more than their mom's. “[The kids] don’t love to watch me in things.” she told InStyle magazine on April 13, “They do to be supportive, but I think it’s a little weird to watch your mom kiss someone or cry. It’s different.” On the other hand, she said Violet, Seraphina, and Sam “don’t mind watching their dad.”

The 'Juno' actress also recently opened up to Stellar Magazine about how she feels about her and Affleck's relationship being in the spotlight. “I really work hard not to see either of us in the press,” she confessed, adding, “It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s something nice about one of us. I just try to forget that I’m out there in any way, and the same with anyone I love. I don’t need to see anyone in my family made into a meme.”
