'Below Deck': Ashton complains to Captain Lee about Rhylee's performance, leaves fans appalled
Ashton has been having a hard time relying on Rhylee and this time he decided to take it up with Captain Lee.
On today's episode of 'Below Deck', the crew decided to take the guests on a fishing trip and Ashton gave the responsibility to Rhylee after she had said that she was good at fishing and knew how to get things done the right way.
According to Ashton, it was Rhylee's time to 'shine' and show the team how good she is. Rhylee was confident about her skills but things did not work the way she wanted as they could not catch any fish during the trip. Ashton was disappointed as the guests complained of not having a chance to enjoy their time fishing.
Talking to the camera, Ashton revealed that he thought Rhylee did not live up to the expectations. He then decided to talk to Captain Lee about what had happened. He wanted the captain to know about the incident from him and not a guest.
However, Rhylee was defended by Kate who was also sitting there. She said that no one could have predicted where the fish would be. However, Ashton seemed determined to complain and said that it was important for him that his team delivered its best. While the captain agreed, the viewers thought that it was a bad move that Ashton had made.
Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment with Ashton's attitude. "I swear if Rhylee gets fired bc of Ashton’s toxic masculinity I’m going to lose my shit," wrote one user. Another added, "Ummm Ashton, @rhylee_gerber fishes in Alaska. She was only on there to make sure they could fish but you as the bosun aka the ‘leader’ need to do the research to make sure these outings go right. Way to look like an idiot."
One even thought that Ashton must be demoted: "Honestly Ashton is just completely useless and should be Demoted and Rhylee should be the Buson and Kevin just because you're employed by the boat doesn't mean jack shit! If a chef is giving you a heads up and telling you ur food is lower then bro, listen up."
'Below Deck' airs on Mondays at 9 pm on Bravo.
