Becky Bliefnick murder: Illinois woman's husband Timothy skips funeral as his attorney says 'it's out of respect'
QUINCY, ILLINOIS: The husband of Becky Bliefnick failed to turn up at her funeral on Friday, March 3. The 41-year-old Illinois nurse and a mother-of-three was found fatally shot with multiple gunshot wounds in her house on February 23.
Her estranged husband Timothy Bliefnick, who lives a mile away from Becky's house, was served a search warrant and detained briefly on Thursday, March 2. However, no arrests have been made and suspects have not been named in the case by the Quincy police department.

'His presence today would have been a distraction'
Timothy's attorney, Casey Schnack, told Fox News, "Out of respect, Tim is giving the Postle family space to grieve together. His presence today would have been a distraction to what was most important – honoring and celebrating the life of Becky."
The attorney, however, informed that the couple's three sons, who had been living with their father since the shooting, attended the funeral separately at Mass at St Peter Church in Quincy. Becky is remembered as "selfless and passionate" by her friends and family.
Bliefnick was, by all accounts, a selfless healthcare professional and a devoted Catholic. After assisting a woman whose husband was scheduled for emergency surgery due to gangrene and sepsis in July 2020, she was recognized by the Daisy Foundation, the outlet mentioned.
Forensic analysis and 'numerous' pieces of evidence gathered for tests
Meanwhile, the Quincy Police department in its recent update said that "in addition to conducting interviews and following up on leads, the department crime scene technician has submitted for forensic analysis, numerous pieces of evidence to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab in Springfield, IL." The police said, "It takes time to run scientific tests, analyse the results, and complete the necessary reports. As results come back, our detectives will apply what is learned to the facts and information already gathered."
'Working hard to bring 'persons responsible for this violent crime to account'
The police further said, "Our agency continues to get any support requested from outside law enforcement agencies and we continue to work closely with prosecutors with the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office as we work through this investigation." They revealed, "Our detectives have been in close contact with Bliefnick’s family since the case began. We are moving forward, and our officers continue to work hard to bring the person or persons responsible for this violent crime to account."
