'She's already planning dinner parties': Barbra Streisand determined to find 'perfect match' for Jennifer Aniston
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Showbiz icon Barbra Streisand, 81, is reportedly “determined” to play matchmaker for Jennifer Aniston. Sources close to the ‘Friends’ star, 54, said that the actress turned to her longtime inspiration for help after close pals failed to find her a perfect match. “Barbra is determined to find Jen the perfect match. She's done it for others,” the insider allegedly claimed.
“Barbra’s already planning dinner parties where Jen will be seated next to someone really nice,” the source told Radar Online. The publication also noted that Aniston is allegedly excited about Streisand’s plans and believes the latter can help her meet the new love of her life. Speaking to Allure in 2022 about the possibility of dating, Aniston said, “I'd love a relationship. Who knows? There are moments I want to just crawl up in a ball and say, ‘I need support.’ It would be wonderful to come home and fall into somebody's arms and say, ‘That was a tough day.’”
Jennifer Aniston recreated iconic Barbra Streisand photos
Aniston has always been vocal about her love for Streisand, long before the latter decided to play matchmaker for the ‘Murder Mystery’ star. Last year, Aniston paid tribute to the ‘Funny Girl’ star on her birthday by sharing two photos of her recreating Streisand’s image from a vintage magazine photoshoot as well as an iconic shot from the ending of ‘Funny Girl.’ “Muse, legend, always inspired by the one and only, Happy @barbrastreisand Day,” Aniston wrote in the caption.
The actress first recreated Streisand’s photos for a September 2010 issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “She's a true Renaissance woman. There isn't anything she hasn't done that she wanted to do,” Aniston gushed at the time. Fans were also quick to spot the uncanny resemblance between the two stars, even requesting Aniston to play Streisand in the latter’s biopic.
Streisand also responded to Aniston’s homage on her personal blog. “I was very flattered that Jennifer Aniston chose to interpret my style with the photos in Harper's Bazaar. She's a delightful person, and I think she did a wonderful job,” she wrote. “If only she had a bump on her nose,” she jokingly added. The source who revealed Streisand’s plans to find a match for Aniston also noted that the two actresses resemble each other “except for their schnozzolas.” The insider further told Radar Online that Streisand has long admired the ‘Friends’ star.

How many times has Jennifer Aniston been married?
Aniston has been married twice in her life. The actress met her first husband, Brad Pitt, in 1994 through their managers before beginning highly publicized relationship began in 1998. The then-Hollywood power couple made their red carpet debut at the 51st Emmy Awards and announced their engagement during a 1999 Sting concert. The pair tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony on July 29, 2000, at a private estate in Malibu, California. The event was attended by 200 guests and the night included a live performance by Melissa Etheridge, a fireworks show, and 50,000 flowers.
Unfortunately, Aniston and Pitt’s relationship came to an end in 2005. The couple announced their separation in January 2005 after nearly five years of marriage and finalized their divorce in October of that same year. Their split sparked rumors about Pitt allegedly being unfaithful to Aniston with Angelina Jolie. However, the couple confirmed that their divorce was “not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media.” During a 2015 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston spoke about her split with Pitt and said, “Nobody did anything wrong... It was just like, sometimes things [happen].”
Aniston met her second husband, actor, director, and screenwriter Justin Theroux, in 2007 while visiting the set of ‘Tropic Thunder’ to meet her friend Ben Stiller. The duo reconnected in 2010 and eventually started dating before reportedly moving in together in 2011. The pair bought their Bel Air home in 2012 and also engaged that same year.
The couple walked down the aisle in an intimate ceremony at their mansion on August 5, 2015, and tricked their family and friends by saying they were attending Theroux's 43rd birthday party. Aniston and Theroux were last seen together as a couple in July 2017 at Jason Bateman's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. In 2018, the pair announced that they had already separated after two-and-a-half years of marriage. However, they remained friends and continue to share a close bond to this day.
