Barack Obama was seen making a short appearance in Michael Jordan docu-series 'The Last Dance' and his fans were left baffled after he was referred to in it as 'former Chicago resident'. The former POTUS is a man with many accomplishments and titles, the most important being his role as the 44th President of the United States. Obama was seen in the premiere episodes of 'The Last Dance', a definitive account of Jordan's career with the Chicago Bulls, packed with unaired footage from the 1997–98 Chicago Bulls season, the NBA legend's final season with the team..

However, the former president's fans and followers were shocked to see him being credited as a former Chicago resident. Chicago has been instrumental in shaping Obama's career in the public sphere and is the city where he cut his political teeth. May be in the context of the docu-series it made sense to call him a "former Chicago resident", but many took to Twitter to express their amusement and outrage.

One such fan wrote, "I’d like an oral history about who and how they decided to give Obama the ‘former Chicago resident’ label."

While another added, "My new goal in life is to meet the person who decided Barack Obama would be ‘Former Chicago Resident'." A third commented saying, "He’s an ex-President, show some respect." Some people thought that the description was a joke and didn't make much of it.

The documentary also did not reference 73-year-old Bill Clinton by his presidential title. He was instead referred to as 'former Arkansas Governor'. Fans asked why he was referred to as such. "Why Bill Clinton get to be ‘former Arkansas governor’ but Obama was a former Chicago resident’???" one fan tweeted

In the documentary, Obama got candid about how Jordan changed basketball in Chicago forever. He said, "When Michael first came to town, I didn’t have the money to buy tickets for a Bulls game," while referring to Jordan's 1984 season.

"Even the discount ones back in the day. I was pretty broke. But suddenly you have a sports figure that puts Chicago on the map and that everybody is able to rally around," he added. Michael became a basketball legend and played for the Chicago Bulls for the majority of his career.

We recently reported about Obama breaking his silence over the way current POTUS Donald Trump works. He recently took a dig at the Trump administration for disregarding warnings about the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

He took to social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook where he cited a New York Times report saying the country is yet to put in place a 'robust' system for testing for COVID-19.

"Social distancing bends the curve and relieves some pressure on our heroic medical professionals. But in order to shift off current policies, the key will be a robust system of testing and monitoring – something we have yet to put in place nationwide," he shared on Facebook.

He also shared an article which spoke about how to know when it's safe to reopen the country. On April 8, Trump had tweeted, "Once we OPEN UP OUR GREAT COUNTRY, and it will be sooner rather than later, the horror of the Invisible Enemy, except for those that sadly lost a family member or friend, must be quickly forgotten. Our Economy will BOOM, perhaps like never before!!!"

As per data from John Hopkins University, there have been around 2,416,135 confirmed cases of the virus globally. The United States currently has 759,786 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and more than 40,000 deaths.
