This summer, baby Archie will be holidaying with the Queen at her estate in Balmoral.

The Queen is reportedly thrilled about the great-grandson visiting her at her Scottish retreat, as Archie remained in Canada with Meghan’s friend Jessica Mulroney and a nanny, while his parents visited Britain.

The family of three is also expected to spend time with Prince Charles and his wife Camilla at their estate

Meghan and Harry’s decision to step back as the senior working members of the royal family has instilled a strange fear in the Queen as she “is heartbroken over the thought of not getting to see her great-grandson,” a source told US Weekly

“The Queen would love to have a relationship with Archie, but it’s looking unlikely that will ever happen,” the source added.

In January, when the Meghan and Harry announced their decision, the Queen issued a statement saying her family is entirely supportive of their desire to “create a new life as a young family”.

"My family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family,” she said.

Last week, Harry and Meghan made their first official public appearance in Britain, following their exit from the royal family.

However, the Queen’s former press secretary Dickie Arbiter, expressing his disappointment in the couple’s decision told Nine News Australia that “it would be a great pity if he's not brought over. He's not seen his great-grandparents or his granddad since last year." reports The Sun.

Previously, the couple had turned down the monarch’s Balmoral invitation stating that four-month-old Archie was too young to go on a trip.

Archie Mountbatten-Windsor turns one in May and if the reports hold true, he would be spending his first birthday with the Queen on his first UK trip since his parents stepped down from the royal duties.

Archie was born on May 6, 2019 at the Portland Hospital, in London.
