Aww-dorable! Michael J Fox poses for sweet photo with furry friend as he welcomes home pet dog Blue
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Michael J Fox is a dog parent! The ‘Back To The Future’ star showed the newest addition to his family on Instagram, and yes, it's an adorable little puppy named Blue. On Monday, March 6, the actor shared a picture of himself cuddling Blue as they both look happily into the camera, captioning it, "Hey Blue, welcome to your new home!"
Blue, Fox’s newest pup, joins his family almost two years after he lost his pet dog Gus in April 2021. His pet pooch was 12 years old at the time and Fox had announced the heartbreaking news on his Instagram, saying, "Gus- great dog and loyal friend, we'll miss you.” Gus was Fox’s support system during his ongoing Parkinson’s disease battle, and he had also called his pet a “wonder dog” at the time. "I didn't rescue Gus," the actor said according to People. He added, "You can argue that he rescued me, but he'd be too modest to make that claim."

Michael J Fox opened up about his pet dog Gus
Two years ago, Fox had spoken about Gus’ impact on him and his treatment journey. The star had revealed that Gus was his constant source of support as he learned to walk again following a 2018 surgery to remove a tumor. He had said, "You know that no matter your situation, no matter what you feel, this animal is with you and is connected to you, and you feel… It's a force multiplier."
Fox’s diagnosis had been revealed to the public almost 25 years ago in 1998. "Your instinct when you have a chronic illness is to sometimes isolate and make your world as small as possible so you don't have much to deal with, but a dog will open you up," he explained.
