Australian bushfires: Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban donate $500,000 to fire relief efforts

The pair took to Instagram to announce their support and educate people on how they can play a part in doing the same.

Australian bushfires have left many people homeless while around a million animals have died in these forest fires. Celebrities are coming together to lend the country a helping hand by donating as much as they can. 

Joining the long list of celebrities who have already contributed towards tackling the bushfires are celebrities Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. The pair took to Instagram to announce their support and educate people on how they can play a part in doing the same. 

"Our family’s support, thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires all over Australia. We are donating $500,000 to the Rural Fire Services who are all doing and giving so much right now," she wrote along with a picture that listed links that could be used if someone wanted to donate for the cause. 

Keith also shared the same message on his Instagram page. Several other celebrities have also come forward to help support the cause. Many took to their social media to raise awareness about the situation in Australia. Sharing several images, the celebrities became vocal about how it is important to wake up and see that climate change is real. 

Singer Pink also donated money towards the cause while urging people to come forward and donate. Taking to Twitter she wrote, "I am devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires. I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz" along with the picture that gave out details about links that could be used for donation. 

Other celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, Chris Brown, and others have also come forward with their support and are urging people to help in whatever little way they can.
