Austin Butler puts his career 'first', postpones marriage plans with model girlfriend Kaia Gerber
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kaia Gerber, a 21-year-old model, is eager to tie the knot but is upset that her workaholic boyfriend Austin Butler, 31, has little interest in hastening down the aisle. The daughter of catwalk queen Cindy Crawford is reportedly stuck on the sidelines while the 'Elvis' star keeps his nose to the grindstone with a series of acting endeavors.
"Kaia would love to marry Austin sooner rather than later, but he makes it plain that just isn't in his field of vision right now," a friend exclaimed, according to Radar Online. The insider revealed that the actor is on the path to accelerating his career now that he has received an Oscar nomination. The friend said, "She understands that his profession comes first, and that isn't likely to change”.

‘She needs to reevaluate their relationship’
The couple's relationship was first reported in December 2021, following the runway babe's breakup from 'Euphoria' star Jacob Elordi and Butler's breakup from High School Musical beauty Vanessa Hudgens. "Kaia and Austin are seeing each other. They're getting to know each other better and having a lot of fun hanging out," a source told ET at the time. They added, "They're very sweet and affectionate with each other and it feels comfortable between the two of them."
The friend claimed that ambitious Butler is pressuring his girl, who has starred on ‘American Horror Story’, to take her profession in front of the camera more seriously, but she is listening to the advice of her well-known mother. The source further revealed, "Cindy's always told her she needs to find true happiness outside of work — not be consumed by it." "And she needs to reevaluate their relationship if that isn't Austin's top priority," the source remarked.
‘Love is really seeing someone’
Before Butler and the star of 'Euphoria', Kaia was rumored to be dating a number of hot guys. Following the breakup of Pete Davidson's engagement to Ariana Grande, the model briefly dated the 'Saturday Night Live' veteran. In 2021, Gerber discussed the qualities she values most in a partner.
