Audrina Patridge, 37, 'The Hills' star, released her bombshell memoir 'Choices: To the Hills and Back Again', revealing that she and her co-hosts at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards found that Justin Timberlake was a "rude diva". While they were presenting the award for the 'Best Male Artist' to him at the VMA in 2007, he apparently launched a "personal attack" against the hosts who were reality stars and also refused to take the award from them.

Her co-hosts, Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, were also present when Justin made an unnecessary remark against the reality TV stars. That particular year was also when Justin Timberlake was involved in the 'Nipplegate' with Janet Jackson, and clearly, things were not in place for the star.

Partridge wrote, "We were invited to so many awards shows and even asked to present a few times. I'll never forget the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, in particular. Lauren [Conrad], Whitney [Port], and I were on stage to present the award for Male Artist of the Year." She continued how her co-hosts were excited and over the moon when they came to know Justin had won the award, beating the likes of Kanye West and Akon because "they were superfans". In her memoir, she wrote, "His wasn’t my kind of music, so I couldn’t have cared less, but I was excited for them." However, Timberlake "wouldn't even come up to us and accept the award in front of a packed house." He asked producer-rapper Timothy Zachery "Timbaland" Mosley to present the award to him instead.

However, Partridge misremembered the sequence of events and thought it was Chris Brown who gave him the award that night. Justin had mentioned Chris in his speech for his performance that very night. But it was Timbaland came onto the stage and took the award from the women to present it to Timberlake. She explained how Justin wouldn’t even come up to them and accept the award in front of a packed house! "Chris Brown came up on stage with him, took the award from us himself, and then presented it to Justin as we backed off to the side.”

To top it off, Justin also made a tongue-in-cheek comment about the hosts. She exclaimed in her book, "As if that wasn't bad enough, Justin took centre stage and said to the crowd: 'MTV, play more damn videos. We don't want to see the Simpsons on reality television. Lauren's jaw dropped. We were humiliated."

Her co-hosts commented how his behaviour was that of a textbook "rude diva", and they were devastated after Justin's brush off, especially since they were looking forward to meeting him on stage. Unsurprisingly, even back in 2014, Lauren had made a statement about how humiliating it was for them when Justin "insulted" reality TV shows. She had said, "We were standing up there smiling, and I felt so stupid."
