'Arrow' fandom welcomes Colton Haynes back as Roy Harper returns to fold
It’s been a while since Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) picked up the bow, but the latest episode of ‘Arrow’ sees his return and the fans couldn’t be happier. After having died, been resurrected in the Lazarus Pits complete with associated bloodlust, and parting ways with Thea (Willa Holland), Roy Harper’s been in a rough place. Things are looking up for him this episode, and it’s a development the fans welcome with open arms.
“So glad to see Roy again. One of my favorite characters. It wouldn't have felt right if he didn't show up in the final season,” says one user on Twitter. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has been going on a bit of a farewell tour on the final season of ‘Arrow’, and the return of Roy Harper seems like a natural choice. Another fan pointed out just how good it was to see Roy in costume again: “Man Roy always kills it when he’s wearing the Arsenal suit.”
Some fans were keeping an eye on the complicated timeline of ‘Arrow’, in particular, the future timeline of 2040. “Diggle messing with the timeline by trying to help Roy control his bloodlust 20 years early,” notes a user. “Took me a second to recall the significance of Roy's line about disappearing somewhere "where even William can't find [him]". I forgot that Roy started last season's flashforwards on Lian Yu” observed another user.
Of course, for some, the news that Roy will be staying with the team for upcoming episodes isn’t quite enough — there’s just one important thing they want more. “Yay Roy is sticking around!!! But then he can go find some peace with Thea, yeah?” asks a shipper of the Thea-Roy relationship.
