Arnold Schwarzenegger trolls Sylvester Stallone's Rambo knife with one from Predator: 'A little larger than yours'
Perpetual badasses Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are still fighting off bad guys in the movies at ages 72 and 73 respectively and continuing their good-natured rivalry much to our delight. While the celebrated former bodybuilder is due to reprise his role in 'Terminator: Dark Fate', John Rambo has sharpened his knives to once again thrill audiences with 'Rambo: Last Blood', the franchise's fifth and final film.
Stallone personally signed one of Rambo's original knives to charity to mark the film's release. Of course, Schwarzenegger had to chime in like any good pal would, Unilad reports. The former governor of California was seen standing next to the donation in a video posted to his Instagram.
"Sly, I just saw your knife you’ve signed for charity… it’s unbelievable, look at this knife," Schwarzenegger addressed Stallone in the footage.
"But this is not a knife. Now, this is a knife," the Kindergarten Cop insisted to Rocky, brandishing a much larger weapon. "This is what we used in Predator. It’s just a little larger than yours, but don’t worry about it."
While the duo shares a healthy relationship, they used to be fierce rivals at one point. Tensions brewed as they both vied to be the Last Action Hero, and their supposed animosity lasted for almost a decade.
"We hated each other in the 80s because we were both in the same business, we wanted to outdo each other. It was an all-out war," Schwarzenegger revealed at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in 2014. "It was a competition of who has the most muscles, who kills the most people on screen, who kills in the most unique way, who makes more money at the box office. Finally, in the ’90s we became kind of friends, and ever since then, we have been friends. Initially, you need a competitor, someone that you hate… because that’s what drives me."
That said, Schwarzengger's playful taunt was all in good spirit, after which he laughed with the those present in the room.
"In all seriousness, all the best of luck with Rambo this weekend, okay?" the seven-time Mr. Olympia wished his old pal. "You’re going to be a hit. It’s gonna be a smash. You’re the best."
