ARMY blame Antis for starting false #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies Twitter trend, BTS fans confused
Twitter is seeing a new trend surrounding fan-favorite BTS and ARMY is furious with the Antis for starting the “ridiculous” hashtag #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies. Several internet users are calling out the K-pop band for having a “racist past”.
While the entire picture is still unclear, #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies continues to trend, sidelining other topics on social media. Agreeing with the trend, one Twitter user wrote, “I'm glad people are waking up to the racism that comes out of South Korea, disgusting that people support kpop knowing that they have a disgusting racist past and current. #APOLOGIZETOYOONGI_KPOPPIES"
Meanwhile, fans can’t stop asking what led the stans to display a sudden hatred towards the BTS member. However, the majority of them have asserted that the trend wasn’t created by ARMY and that Yoongi doesn’t need to apologize. “Yoongi shouldn’t have had to apologize. he did nothing wrong. if you whole heartedly thing he’s the one in the wrong then you can leave. #APOLOGIZETOYOONGI_KPOPPIES,” tweeted one.
“If you think army did this then you are on the same level of stupidity of Donald Trump . ANITS shut the f**k up and leave BTS alone or you will get your ass whooped by army #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies,” read one tweet. While another added “#apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies wtf is going on from what I am hearing army didn’t start these trending it was someone else who not a kpop fan.”
Noting as to how BTS doesn’t have the time to indulge in such internet trends, one devoted fan tweeted, “Army is too busy with the upcoming Festa schedule to bother with this. please contact at a later time [army did not start this tag guys] #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies
If not for anything, the new trend has only created more differences among the BTS ARMY according to a few tweets. “Before we even start this conversation, y'all seriously need apologize to the black army's that were sent disgusting comments, racial slurs, death threats, & were almost driven off this app just because they felt like they weren't wanted #apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies” said one.
Another added, “Can people at least apologise to all the black stans who have been doxxed, bullied off this site, sent lynching threats, sent messages telling them to k*ll themselves, gaslighted, etc first?”
And some internet users have stated that the hashtag itself is ridiculous and have asked the antis if they couldn’t think of anything better. “If BTS antis are going to defame Armys with a hashtag couldn’t they have at least made it sound prettier wtf is apologizetoyoongi_kpoppies,” wrote one.
