MAUI, HAWAII: Amid the devastating wildfires that have swept across the island of Maui in Hawaii, Britney Spears' sons, Sean Preston and Jayden who have recently moved to Hawaii are "very sad" to see their new neighbors being affected by the natural disaster.

The singer's ex-husband Kevin Federline, 45, just relocated his family, including their sons from California to Hawaii on August 1.

The shift comes after his wife, Victoria Prince secured a new job there.

Are Britney Spears' sons safe?

According to Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, Spears' sons are "not personally [affected], but there are people in the area that are dying and having their homes destroyed, so it’s very traumatic," reported Page Six.

"Obviously, right now, everyone is very sad about what’s going on there with the fires and the casualties from the fires, but other than the trauma from that, they’re very happy to be there," the lawyer added of the wildfires that resulted in the death toll's increase to 55.

Kaplan, however, assured that Spears' sons were enthusiastic about building their future in their new home state and are excited to explore new opportunities and to make new friends in Hawaii.

"They love it there. They had been there before they decided to make the move, but they’re very happy there," Kaplan told Page Six. "They’re excited about it. They’re living in paradise," he added.

Was Spears okay with her sons moving to Hawaii?

Jaden, 16, and Preston, 17 are reportedly planning to continue their education. While one of them will be attending school in Hawaii, the other will be engaging in remote learning with their Los Angeles school.

Following her ex-husband and teenage sons' decision to shift to Hawaii, Spears said she had no issues with her sons leaving their home state California. "To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation," read a letter by Mathew Rosengart issued in May, reported Page Six.

The 41-year-old pop musician and her ex-husband have a 70-30 custody agreement in his favor. The exes had not "been exercising custody pursuant to the order — it’s sort of been what they agree to," according to Kaplan's previous statement.

Aside from the two teenage sons Jayden and Preston, Federline is a father to four other children—Kori, 21, and Kaleb, 19, with his ex-fiancée Shar Jackson, and Jordan,12, and nine-year-old Peyton, with his wife Victoria Prince.
