'Couldn't last a day!': AOC slammed for returning to Twitter after self-imposed exile

AOC ended her brief Twitter break to target West Virginia Sen Joe Manchin over his opposion to President Biden’s 'Build Back Better' bill

Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came back on Twitter on Tuesday, February 1, after claiming the previous evening that she was taking a 'break' from the microblogging platform. AOC ended her short hiatus to target West Virginia Sen Joe Manchin over his opposion to President Biden’s 'Build Back Better' bill. AOC had earlier claimed that she was taking a break from Twitter in response to a social media user pointing out that she had not posted anything on her social media feeds for a while.

“When will you come back to twitter?? You’re missed,” the user wrote to AOC on the lawmaker’s Instagram Story. AOC replied, "That’s so funny you bring that up. Yeah, when I got COVID, I turned off all my devices, which means I wasn’t really on social media that much or anything like that.” “So I mean, literally, I would go to open the app and I almost felt like, anxious,” AOC added. “People kind of fight and gossip and all this other stuff so much, but — and there’s a lot of negative, negativity on there — but I’ll be back. Don’t worry.”

The following day, however, the Democrat Congresswoman was back on Twitter, taking a dig at Manchin after he said President Biden's social spending plan was “dead". "Seniors, kids, & people with disabilities in my community have been sleeping with bubble jackets on in 18 degree nights, despite paying rent, bc the NYCHA funding to fix their heating and capital needs is in BBB," she wrote. "Where should I direct them to wait out the cold? Manchin’s yacht?"

AOC is being trolled for saying she is taking a break from Twitter and resuming soon after. "But but but I was reliably informed by AOC on IG that she was taking a break from Twitter. She couldn't last a single freaking DAY????" one user wrote. "So ... AOC’s already back on Twitter after her hours long self-ban and a ‘wellness nap.” OMG," wrote another user. 

"Y'all didn't seriously think this narcissist was gonna stay gone did you?" one user commented, while another said, sharing an image of AOC, "AOC quits Twitter. also AOC less than a week later..."And another thing...". One user wrote, "AOC left Twitter in a snit last night due to 'negativity' here--ya'll hurt her feelings?--but she's back today to cancel Joe Manchin over his opposition to Biden's build back better bill. These people are too funny however bad for America when in power."

Last month, AOC was slammed after she contracted Covid days after she was pictured partying maskless at a Miami drag brunch. AOC has constantly and strongly advocated for mask and vaccine mandates. However, during her trip to Miami, Florida, last week, she was spotted at various venues without a mask. AOC was pictured on January 2 with her pals at a drag brunch at the Palace Bar on Miami's South Beach. She was snapped along with 'Pose' star Billy Porter, and was maskless.
