How did Ant Anstead and Renee Zellweger meet? 'Property Brother' host calls GF 'pure class'
Ant Anstead is head over heels for his girlfriend Renée Zellweger. The couple, who have almost completed one year together, have graced the media and their fans with enough pry now and then. The 43-year-old television presenter posted a picture on his Instagram with his girlfriend Zellweger as they snuggled on a beach with a caption, "This lady (emoji) Pure. Class. Ren x." The picture came as an update to the fans who were shipping for them.
It seems like the universe wanted them to meet. But more than that, the unexpected duo of 'Property Brothers' recently revealed that they are responsible for the Anstead-Zellweger romance that people cannot get enough of. In a conversation with ExtraTv, television stars Jonathan and Drew Scott spilled the beans. Pointing out that Anstead first met the Oscar-winning actress at Celebrity IOU Joyride, Jonathan pointed out that the show "was actually not just about a car show giving back to people. That was actually an undercover dating show to find Ant the love of his life.”

Drew further said, "We have what we call our showmances. So over the years, with all the shows that we’ve hosted or produced, we have a whole bunch of people, and this isn’t just one-night stands, this is people who have fallen in love, get married, they have kids." While the duo somehow managed to keep it lowkey, their PDA just couldn't remain behind the curtains and the duo soon made their romance official, sending their fans into a frenzy.
How did Anstead and Zellweger meet?
Anstead and Zellweger first sparked rumors in June 2021. They first met while filming an episode of his new Discovery+ TV show, Celebrity IOU Joyride. Anstead has previously mentioned how he never expected to meet his girlfriend at his reality show. In an interview with ET's Nischelle Turner, Anstead said, "Sometimes things come to you at the right time, and actually the right time is often the most unexpected. There's absolutely no way it was something I expected, but there's something magical in that right?"
The 'Wheeler Dealers' star was previously married to Christina Haack for almost 2 years before announcing their separation via Instagram in September 2020. After the confirmation of their divorce, they confirmed to share custody of their son Hudson who arrived in 2019. Anstead talked about co-parenting with ET in the same interview, "The concept of blended families is more common now than it was and we live in a society now where it's more normal. So you have to bring a level of normalcy to it. Hudson's peers and kids at school are all in very similar situations and it just has to come from a place of love really because ultimately if the decision is in favor of the child, it's ultimately the right decision."

Anstead and Zellweger sparked off like lighter fluid, and their overwhelming love was noticed when the pair were seen kissing on their bike at a traffic light on the 4th of July. The PDA sightings continued throughout July. However, they did not address the romance right away. On the other hand, Haack too decided to move on with her life. She was seen holding hands with Joshua Hall in July 2021 and they made their relationship official via an Instagram story soon after. Anstead and Haack continue to stay in touch for the sake of their child.
