‘Kids look up to this man!’ Critics call for age restrictions on Sam Smith’s NSFW music video
LONDON, ENGLAND: Sam Smith has received huge criticism while fans have equally chipped in defending the artist for his new song video for having hyper-sexualized scenes. This comes after critics dubbed it 'controversial' and demanded that this video be age-restricted on Youtube.
Despite critics, many have paddled in support of the artists comparing several other scenes that have depictions somewhat similar to the videos. More so fans are also finding similarities to the videos released by artists the world over like Madona and Miley Cyrus. Some even recalled the 1984 pop star Devine getting banned for a similar kind of depiction.

Bigots have lost their F****** minds, fans chip in with support
Many were in support as one wrote on Twitter, "All this Pearl clutching over Sam Smith's latest video reminds me of when Divine appeared on TOTP back in 1984, & The Bigots & UK Media lost their f****** minds". Many others slammed Sam Smith for degenerating Hollywood culture. "Sam Smith is a perfect example of what degenerate Hollywood culture does to people. It makes celebrities vulgar, hyper-sexualized, and obsessed with wearing their sexuality like a costume and shoving it in everyone’s face. And to make matters worse, kids look up to this man!".
In comparison, some wrote, "I don't like Sam Smith, but if you're offended by that music video. Don't watch Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. You'll have kittens". One more added, "And Frankie Goes To Hollywood! I've not even seen Sam Smith's video but I remember similar pearl-clutching back in the 80s"

'Way too far': Critics slam Sam Smith as supporters ask 'What's wrong with people?'
A user said this has been taken way far, "This is taking it waaaaaaay too far! Sam Smith has an absolutely amazing voice, so he, yes, he, does not need to lower himself, again, himself, down to such a degrading level! What's done in the bedroom, should stay in the bedroom! I like his musical style, but not the trash!". Another user went to the length to say that it was "nothing new". "Just watched the Sam Smith video and oh my fucking god what the hell is wrong with people (they’re trying to stir up a culture war I know I know). It’s not even anything new. It’s *so* derivative in look and sound and I don’t hate it but I’ve seen it all before.
You’d think Boy George, Liberace. Frankie Goes To Hollywood, George Michael, Divine, Madonna and so on and so on and so on, I could name a thousand other artists, had never existed. And sure, all those people caused their own outrage but that’s the point, it’s all so tedious.

Continuing, she wrote, "Anyway, I really love the frilly, puffy pink number they wore when they got out of the helicopter at the beginning of the video, concentrate on that you bunch of bores."
On wrote, "Sorry @samsmith but you do not represent LGBT in any way! Majority of LGBT aren’t into someone urinating in their mouth (unlike in your video), or prescribe to your sadomasochism, bondage fetishes. You cause more harm to LGBT than any right wing anti-LGBT group!" Many others said that the video was just for seeking attention. "SMITH IS AN EXAMPLE OF JUST ANOTHER ARTIST SELLING THEIR SOULS TO THE DEVIL FOR ATTENTION, FAME, MONEY, LIKES, FOLLOWERS, AND VIEWS!!! WHICH UNFORTUNATELY IS HOW THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, CORP ADVERTISERS, PRODUCTS ETC MEASURES TALENT TOO! ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL AND PATHETIC!!!"
