Who is AnnaRose King's husband Michael Telis? A look at her marriage as family mourns her untimely death at 35
After a prolonged battle with lung cancer, filmmaker and actor AnnaRose King died on January 3, 2021, at the age of 35. AnnaRose was the daughter of late television and media executive producer Roger King, who managed the King World Productions. She is survived by her husband Michael Charles Telis and her four-year-old daughter Willow Rose King Telis.
During her short yet memorable stint in the film industry, AnnaRose wrote, produced, directed and acted in the film, ‘Good Enough’, an emotional movie inspired by her father’s death in 2007.
Battle with cancer at the prime of life
Born in Manhattan, AnnaRose was brought up in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College, Los Angeles, before earning a Master’s degree in Film Production from the Tisch School of Arts in New York University.
The 2016 film, ‘Good Enough’, which was the highlight of her career, portrayed the story of a New York flight attendant in search of a long-lost relative following her father’s death. The movie was King’s tribute to her late father, as she shared on a 2017 installment of Dr Phil. King also co-created the web-series ‘American Viral’, as well as directed movies like ‘Spanish Rice’, ‘Kat & Eis’, ‘Crystal Sessions’, ‘The Actress’ and ‘Stood Up’.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer three years ago. While undergoing cancer treatment, she had established a cancer research fund at MD Anderson Cancer Center. You can still donate to the fund in her honor.
Who is Michael Telis?
AnnaRose got married to 27-year-old Michael Charles Telis in January 2014 at the age of 28. Telis, who hails from Washington, graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. His mother, Karen A Telis, is a professor at American University, Washington in the department of justice, law and society. His father, Dr Sherman H Telis is a dentist at the Chevy Chase Dental Center.
Michael Telis was a third-year law student at Georgetown at the time of his marriage to AnnaRose. He later became an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, a Manhattan-based law firm. Since 2018, he has been working as a Commercial Associate with IFM Investors in Greater NYC. Not much is known about Telis but he was a doting husband to the talented AnnaRose King.
