Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannielynn attended the Kentucky Derby with her dad wearing her late mother's hat

Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, is growing up so fast. The 12-year-old recently stepped out with her father Larry Birkhead and looked radiant as they posed together on the carpet of The Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Dannielynn looked beautiful, just like her late mother.

“Kentucky Derby time once again. Dannielynn looks pretty in pink in her dress by Junona and her Mom’s hat from her unforgettable appearance at The Kentucky Derby in 2004 #KentuckyDerby2019,” Birkhead had tweeted.
The duo also attended the extravagant Kentucky Derby Eve Gala which took place at Patricia Barnstable Brown's Louisville home on Friday. Birkhead took to his Twitter handle and posted a picture of the father-daughter duo on their day out. "Headed to the 31st annual Barnstable-Brown Derby Eve Gala with Dannielynn, in her awesome dress by Junona. The start to an awesome weekend! #proudpapa," he captioned the picture.

On Friday, Dannielynn looked beautiful in a high-low, bright yellow dress with pink flower details and a bow around her waist as her dad matched her outfit with a pink tie and pocket square.
Other guests that made their way to the Kentucky Derby Eve Gala include, Wilmer Valderrama, "Real Housewives of Dallas" star Cary Deuber, and "Bachelor" couple Kendall Long and Joe Amabile.

The father-daughter duo has made it a tradition to go to the derby every year. The duo has been attending the event since 2010 and topping their outfits each year.
Dannielynn had a tumultuous early childhood after her mother passed away due to drug overdose in 2007. Smith passed away at the age of 39. Dannielynn's father's identity was not certain until Birkhead took a DNA test that confirmed he is the father.

Smith claimed that Dannielynn's father was her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern. When she passed away, Dannielynn was just a year old. The news of Smith's death came a year after Dannielynn's 20-year-old brother Daniel Wayne Smith died.
As of September 2016, the father-daughter duo resides in rural Kentucky.
