Anna Kendrick recently opened up about her being part of the ‘Twilight’ series and said she was not happy with the association. The 34-year-old actress compared her experience to “traumatic event”, such as “surviving a hostage situation”.

Discussing her career with Vanity Fair in a new video, Kendrick said initially she was not sure she would be cast in the original 2008 ‘Twilight’ movie. However, when she eventually got the offer and started to work, she was absolutely miserable. “The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable. And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘You know, this is a really great group of people and I’m sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone,'” she revealed.

Kendrick, who played Jessica Stanley, the best friend to Kristen Stewart’s lead character of Bella in the film, continued: “Although, it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you’re kind of bonded for life.”

However, she added that the rest of the ‘Twilight’ series experience was fortunately not bad for her. “The second movie, for whatever reason, the weather wasn’t quite as intense and I think that’s sort of where we all got to know each other a little bit better,” Kendrick said referring to her co-stars.

The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star also joked that it can be difficult for her to keep the ‘Twilight’ films separate in her mind. "They all start to blend into one at some point, because my whole job was just to go, like, 'This family of very pale people who we never see eating, they're really weird, right?'" she said.

In the third film of the franchise, 2010’s ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, Kendrick’s character gave a memorable valedictorian graduation speech that was liked by the fans, but she said she could not take credit for that. The star said, “The thing that is happening is you are looking at [co-star] Kristen Stewart's reaction to that speech and that is the thing that is moving you. Because I was like 'I did alright' but I was just kind of like 'I dunno I'm reading the speech' and then it cuts to Kristen. She's so moved because she's so talented. People are like, 'That speech is so amazing,' and I'm like, 'No it's just her, she's great.'"

Kendrick was last seen in the fourth film of the ‘Twilight’ saga where she appeared in a wedding scene. "You're in half-frozen mud in what was the final scene of filming for everybody. I get to come in and work for a week or two, and everybody else has been giving their blood, sweat, and tears to the project for months. I show up at the end, and I'm like, 'Guys, we did it. It's over!'" she said.

Kendrick has since then worked in a number of projects, including the ‘Pitch Perfect’ franchise. She also provided lead voiceover in the two ‘Trolls’ animated films. She currently stars in a rom-com named ‘Love Life’ on HBO Max.
