LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the former power couple of Hollywood, are currently locked in a bitter legal battle over their children. The couple has six children: Maddox, 21, Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14. All are teens — the youngest kids, the twin boy and girl, will turn 15 in July.

The news that Jolie and Pitt had divorced after only two years of marriage had startled fans all over the world on September 20, 2016. Angie requested sole physical custody of their children, claiming irreconcilable differences. The 59-year-old 'Fight Club' star responded by asking for joint legal and physical custody of their six children in November of that same year. Since then, their relationship has been strained by a bitter custody dispute, though things have calmed down a bit lately.

'The kids are fine with Brad'

It appears that the couple's acrimonious custody battle is having an effect on the children, who have reportedly asked their mother to quit fighting as they are happy to spend time with their father. According to one source, "the kids are fine with Brad; with maybe the exception of Maddox, they all actually like him." The source added, "[The other kids' fondness for Brad] really gets under Angie's skin. If she has her way, she'll continue to battle Brad for years. It's become a part of her," as per OK Magazine. The couple are still working through their 2016 divorce settlement mainly because of the custody struggle.

'The situation is ridiculous'

While the pair was previously famous for how they met on the set of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith', their relationship has now been marred by years of legal wrangling. The source claims that the legal battle won't abate till Jolie makes up her mind. "Angie goes through periods of wanting to move on from Brad and live her life and then pure resentment toward him," said the insider, adding, "Brad would have settled things a long time ago, and at this point, he's spent millions on legal fees. They both have. The situation is ridiculous."
