Angelina Jolie had trouble getting over Brad Pitt as she loved him 'like she hadn’t loved anyone else before'
Two years after breaking up with Pitt, Jolie seems to have arrived at a comfortable place and is taking solace in her kids and family
Actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were together for 11 long years, and getting over a relationship that's lasted that long can definitely be a hard thing to do, especially when you throw kids into the mix.
Though the duo has been separated for about two years now, a source revealed to Hollywood Life that it has taken a while for Jolie to be happy after their separation.
“The divorce was really hard on Angie, as she loved Brad like she hadn’t loved anyone else before, so it’s nice to see her turning a corner and seeming a lot more relaxed and at ease these days,” the source revealed.
“She was very tense and not herself when she and Brad first separated. Angie likes to live a private life for the most part, however, she also likes to live a very normal life which is why she has no problem taking her kids to do normal kid activities. Even with photographers there, she will still continue doing this. It’s really important for Angie to let them be normal children.”
The simple things of like going out shopping or eating at restaurants have definitely helped the actress lift up her spirits as she has had to publicly navigate through the entire divorce proceedings. As for Pitt and Jolie's kids, the same source confirmed that the star kids are doing just fine even in the middle of all the talk about their parents' divorce.
The pair share six kids: Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and Vivienne and Knox, 10.
“The kids are handling everything as best as possible and seem happy and really are just normal children with very famous parents,” the source continued. “They are very polite, bright and friendly. The twins [Knox and Vivienne] are also very, very into sports and are quite agile.”
Apart from her kids, Jolie has also found solace after her separation from Pitt with her family members,. “Angie also has been quietly spending time with her dad Jon [Voight, 80] still and they seem to have really repaired that relationship in full. He is a big part of the kids lives now, too, and has kind things to say about Brad even.”
It was previously reported that Jolie's children are growing up to be a lot like Pitt and Jolie actually enjoys seeing a part of ex in all her children. A source shared at the time, "As Angelina‘s kids get older, they remind her more and more of their father Brad."
"It warms her heart to think the kids are taking on some of the amazing qualities she fell in love with in Brad. Angelina sees some of the kid's mannerisms, their sense of humor, and other sweet characteristics of the kids are all subtly falling in line with how Brad behaves."
