Angelina Jolie was 'relieved' when ex Brad Pitt made time to fly to Rome for Knox and Vivienne's birthday
The 47-year-old actress Angelina Jolie was happy when ex-husband Brad Pitt, 58, made time to go to Rome, Italy, for their kids, Knox and Vivienne's birthday. According to an insider who exclusively spoke to HollywoodLife, Jolie was hell-bent on making sure everything went according to plan.
"Angelina’s on a tight shooting schedule, so she’s relieved that Brad was able to come to Rome to see the kids and be there for Knox and Vivienne’s birthdays. It means a lot to her that he made the trip," the source said.

The source continued by saying that the 'Salt' actress always "bends over backward" to make sure that her children get to spend time with their father, especially on important occasions like holidays and birthdays. "But in this situation, she was stressing about how to make it all work, so the fact that Brad stepped up and made the trip has taken a huge weight off her shoulders, and his effort hasn’t gone unnoticed," the source concluded.
As it turns out, communication between Angelina and Brad hasn't exactly improved since their divorce and custody dispute. Hence, Brad's most recent trip to see the twins left a lasting effect on them. The source further said, "They have virtually no contact. Everything between them, including the kids’ schedules, is handled by third parties because they’re still battling it out in court. But Angelina shields the kids from it all as best she can because she wants them to have a healthy relationship with their dad, regardless of how she feels about him." Besides Knox and Vivienne, the "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" actors also have four other kids together. Maddox is 20 years old, Pax is 18 years old, Zahara is 17, and Shiloh is 16 years old.
On July 11, photos were taken of Brad arriving at the airport in Rome. He smiled for the cameras while wearing an article of casual clothing and a bucket hat. He also hinted that he may be planning on playing some tunes on Knox and Vivienne's big day by carrying a guitar on his back.
