It seems Andy Cohen’s 14-month-old son, Benjamin, has got a new friend since his father is so excited to introduce him to Anderson Cooper’s newborn.

The ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’ host shared a picture of Cooper kissing his newborn son on Instagram as he wrote: “New life, new hope! Wyatt Cooper, you couldn’t have come at a better time! I know a friend who can’t wait to meet you! ♥️”

The 51-year-old also commented on Anderson’s post announcing the birth of his son as Cohen wrote, “Ben❤Wyatt.”

The ‘60 Minutes’ show host welcomed his baby boy, Wyatt Morgan Cooper, on Monday, April 27, via surrogacy. He announced the arrival of the new member on-air on Thursday night, April 30. He also took to Instagram to share the good news as he posted pictures of himself with the newborn.

The 52-year-old captioned the picture, writing: “I want to share with you some joyful news. On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was.

“My son's middle name is Morgan. It's a family name on my mom's side. I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy.”

Cooper came out in 2012 and revealed to the world that he is gay. In a statement given at the time, the ‘Anderson Cooper 360˚’ host said: “I have given some the mistaken impression that I am trying to hide something—something that makes me uncomfortable, ashamed or even afraid. This is distressing because it is simply not true. The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud."

Anderson also revealed in the social media post that as a gay child he never expected to become a father.

“As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son's birth.

“Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him. It is an extraordinary blessing - what she and all surrogates give to families who can’t have children. My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives,” he added.

This comes almost a year and a half after Cohen welcomed his child via a surrogate. He revealed in February 2019 that “after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science” he became a father of a son.
