Andressa Urach: Cristiano Ronaldo's ex's return to stripping nixed after hubby shows up with cops
Former Miss Bumbum Andressa Urach, who is known for her supposed affair with Cristiano Ronaldo, courted controversy earlier this month with her husband Thiago Lopes.
The former luxury model and escort was confronted by her husband and the police at the Gruta Azul nightclub, an adult club in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she would perform. This came just days after Urach announced her separation from Lopes and declared she will return to doing shows despite being two months pregnant with their child. The couple tied the knot in December 2020, but Urach revealed in September that the marriage had come to an end. Urach had been leading a pious life since 2015 following a health scare, but it didn't take her long to announce the return of 'Imola' -- a soubriquet from her stripping days at a famous nightclub in Espírito Holy, the Blue Grotto.

According to Brazilian outlet Flash! Urach's return to the stage was interrupted by her husband as he arrived at the front door of the nightclub with the authorities to prevent her from performing. The model recorded the incident on her phone, showing Lopes and the police in front of the adults-only establishment. “Guys, my ex-husband is out in front of my workplace, Gruta Azul, with the police! Do you want to have me arrested for what? I came to do a show. I do not understand. We are separated, I didn’t abort or use drugs! And he was the one who got me pregnant," Andressa said on Saturday night, October 2, in a video published to her Instagram Stories.
The 34-year-old former model explained that she was getting ready for the show at the club, slated to start at 1.30 am when Thiago showed up. “I’m here at the Gruta Azul restaurant, where I’m having dinner. In a little while I was going to introduce myself, to play at 1:30 am and my ex-husband is here in front of the door, wanting, I don’t know, arrest me for I don’t know what," she continued.
Urach said Lopes had accused her of abusing drugs as she vehemently denied his claims. “I have been drug-free for over 7 years. And I don’t know why he’s here at the front, because we’re not together anymore," she said. "I don’t understand where he’s going with this. It’s upfront here with the police. Are you aware of this?! I want to work. First, he was the one who got me pregnant. So, like, I’m not getting it. Now I’m going to eat my dinner again, because then I have to work, introduce myself."
Lopes posted photos on his Instagram shortly after, explaining that he had brought the model back home. “At home. And very pianinha”, he wrote, referring to the Portuguese word for "submissive." He also blasted her for visiting the nightclub. “Attention, tramp brothel. It will be like this now," he added, per Metropoles.
Lopes is now in control of Urach's social media and has banned her from doing interviews, according to local magazine Quem. There is a post on the former Miss Bumbum's Instagram explaining the couple's apparent reconciliation. "The past is a place of reference and not of permanence! Life is made of choices, we made mistakes, we got it right, but the important thing is to continue living in the best possible way and with the people we love!" the post reads. "Do we fight? Yes. Which family doesn't fight? Which marriage doesn't go through crises? But love always wins through forgiveness. Thank you, love, for fighting for our family. Tiago Lopes, I love you."
Urach grabbed headlines in June as well, when she wrote on social media that she did not own herself and was submissive to her husband Lopes. "I am not a feminist, respect those who are, because each one is happy as they are. I have my profession and chose to be the wife of a man and be submissive to him. I am happy to be that. I do not need it but chose to be it. With much pleasure and fear, I am submissive to his authority. And yes, the last word is his, for he is not just any man, but a man who fears God and does me no harm, but good every day. I love to be taken care of by him. I was never loved and cared for as he takes care of me and my son," she said at the time.
