Who is Benjamin Maisani? Meet Anderson Cooper's 9-year-long ex who will co-parent the CNN anchor's son Wyatt
Andy Cooper, who recently welcomed son Wyatt is busy playing the role of a father. However, he is not doing it alone and has revealed that his former partner Benjamin Maisani would co-parent baby Wyatt with him.
The ‘Anderson Cooper 360°’ anchor, during his interview with Stephen Colbert in his late-night show’s latest episode, which aired on May 4, confirmed that he and Maisani are raising Wyatt together.
Cooper said in a statement, "He's my family and I want him to be Wyatt's family as well". He further revealed that his ex-beau was in the delivery room with him when Wyatt was born.
Although a few speculations regarding the duo rekindling relationship are circulating, neither of them has confirmed that they are back together. Soon after the news regarding baby Wyatt broke, a source told Us Weekly, “Anderson has reconciled with Ben”.
It further read, “They very quietly got back together and are planning ahead. Ben is selling one of his clubs and cutting back on how much he does at night so he can spend more time at home with Anderson and the baby.”
It seems like only time could tell if Cooper and Maisani are a thing again. And here’s everything you need to know about Cooper’s on-again-off-again boyfriend. Maisani owns several establishments, including nightclubs, and a number of properties. He is originally from France, born in 1973, sharing an age difference of six years with the 52-year-old Cooper.
He graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Arts, before taking up a job at a bar. He eventually went on to start his own bar called ‘Easter Bloc’. His establishment has seen many prominent faces as regulars, including Andy Cohen, with whom he is known to share a cordial relationship. According to Wealthy Persons, Maisani enjoys a net worth of $8 million, a majority of which comes from his bar.
The couple first met in 2009 and dated for nearly three years before calling their relationship off in 2018. Cooper confirmed the news about their split at the time with the statement, “Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago, we are still family to each other, and love each other very much."
Although they were spotted together a couple of times during their romantic rendezvous and red carpet appearances, Maisani preferred staying away from the limelight.
Talking about the same in an interview with French Morning from 2014, Maisani had told, “I understand that it interests people, but it doesn’t interest me. Like most people, I never really thought about it, and I never wanted to be a celebrity. I knew I’d have to be careful right from the start before it had a chance to get out of hand.” reports People.
Whether the couple is getting back together or not, we couldn’t wait to know more about their co-parenting adventures.
