Anatoly Androsovych: Halyna Hutchins' distraught dad, a Soviet-era nuclear submarine captain, tried to join Ukraine army after her death
KYIV, UKRAINE: The ailing father of the filmmaker shot by Alec Baldwin claimed he attempted to enlist in the Ukrainian army while struggling with his grief. After losing Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of 'Rust' in October 2021, Kyiv resident Anatoly Androsovych, 67, was left devastated.
Baldwin, 64, who fired the shot that killed Halyna, a mother of one, is accused of involuntary manslaughter and could spend up to five years in prison. On Friday, February 24, the first anniversary of the Ukrainian War, he is scheduled to appear in court, as reported by The US Sun.

What did Anatoly Androsovych say?
Four months after his daughter's death, Anatoly was eager to join defenders gearing up for house-to-house combat as Russian forces began their onslaught on his country. Anatoly has military experience as a commander of a nuclear submarine during the Soviet era. Nevertheless, he was discouraged after being told that he was too elderly and that his naval experience would not be useful to ground forces training for conflict.
He told The Sun, “It has been mentally hard here to understand how Ukraine could suffer all these losses from Russia." Androsovych continued, “they started this war and violated all the international agreements. As an ex-navy man, I have tried to get mobilized, but have been told that I’m too old.”
On the 'Rust' shooting case, Anatoly, who first claimed Baldwin was not to fault for Halyna's death, now said his attorneys had asked him not to speak.
Alec Baldwin to face a new lawsuit
MEAWW previously reported the husband and parents of Halyna Hutchins have announced their intention to file a new lawsuit against Alec Baldwin. The 'Rust' cinematographer was killed by the disgraced actor on the set of the 2021 film. Gloria Allred, a well-known lawyer, announced in a press release that she will be representing Hutchins' family.
Baldwin, who is also the producer of the film 'Rust,' already settled with the Hutchins family in a separate lawsuit in October 2021. The settlement terms of the civil lawsuit were not made public. The grounds for the new suit are also unknown, and more information is expected to be released at a press conference held by Allred on Thursday afternoon, February 9, according to the New York Post. The announcement of the new suit comes after Baldwin was charged in January 2023 with two counts of involuntary manslaughter for the on-set shooting of the mother of one. If convicted, the actor could face up to five years in prison.
