Amy Schumer details IVF process as she tries to conceive again, says she has one 'normal embryo'
Early January Amy Schumer announced that she was undergoing IVF to try and conceive another time, hopefully, have her son Gene Attell Fischer a sibling soon. She is known for her forthcomingness and that's exactly what she did when she shared news of the first egg retrieval on Friday on her social media handle.
The actress had taken ovarian stimulation medication, eonline reported. "Hey! So ivf went like this for us. They retrieved 35 eggs from me. Not bad for the old gal right?" Schumer posted on Instagram and added, "Then 26 fertilized! Whoah right? For all of those we got 1 normal embryo from that and 2 low level mosaic (mosaic means there are some abnormal cells but can still lead to a healthy baby) So we feel lucky we got 1! But what a drop off right?"
Previously, Amy had asked users online to share their fertility stories and had received an overwhelming response. She was extremely thankful for each and every story and had shared a note of gratitude for them.
"They made me feel empowered and supported. So I wanted to tell you how mine went down. So many women go through many rounds of ivf which is painful and mentally grueling. I heard from hundreds of women about their miscarriages and struggles and also many hopeful stories about how after rounds and rounds of ivf it worked!! It has been really encouraging. Thank you," she added in her post.
Schumer concluded her heartfelt post with the fact that she is grateful for having access to resources and the help that she has been getting.
The 'Trainwreck' actress send across love and strength to everyone struggling and also told them they were free to text her on the number on her bio to share their experiences further.
