Amy Schumer says 'nemesis' Meghan Markle looks better than her and wears high heels during pregnancy
In October, Schumer joked about Markle seemingly handling her pregnancy much better than her while the former 'Suits' actress was on her first official royal tour with Harry.
Comedian Amy Schumer, being her hilarious self, compared herself to Meghan Markle as both women are pregnant at the same time. Schumer goes on to call Markle her 'nemesis' because of how well she seems to be handling her pregnancy in comparison to the 37-year-old star.
In an interview with InStyle Magazine, the star opened up about her pregnancy. In an accompanying video with the interview, Schumer starts off by saying “Why is she my nemesis? "Because she's pregnant at the same time as me and I am not going to let her get away with that."
"So maybe I'm feeling competitive, like, 'Oh, Meghan looks better than me and she has a tiny small bump and she's wearing high heels, and I already look 10 months pregnant and I've been wearing flats for the last four years,'" she jokes about the Duchess of Sussex. Schumer then makes a statement that really puts an end to all her previous comparisons: "I remember nobody really cares about me because they only really care about themselves."
This isn't the first time Amy has drawn comparisons between the royal bride and herself. In a hilarious move, Schumer announced her pregnancy by photoshopping her and husband Chris Fischer's heads onto Markle and Prince Harry's bodies.
In an Instagram story in October, Schumer joked about Markle seemingly handling her pregnancy much better than her while the former 'Suits' actress was on her first official royal tour with Harry. The 'I Feel Pretty' star shared a topless snap of herself presumably experiencing morning sickness over a toilet. She looks over her shoulder in the picture, with her hair tied up in a messy bun. "Today Markle is in Figi [sic] #same," she captioned the photo. "Milf alert," reports ETOnline.
Schumer has already experienced a bout of pregnancy complications when earlier last month she ended up in the hospital due to severe morning sickness. She even had to reschedule her show in Texas because of the development. In an Instagram post she shared with fans then she seemed to be talking about how difficult the second trimester has been for her, she said, "I’ve been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit! Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati!"
Schumer and Markle seem to have a lot in common apart from being pregnant at the same time. Both the women are 37 and got married in the same year. In May, the newlywed Schumer spoke about how she felt rather bad for Markle ahead of her wedding.
"This poor girl," she commented when she called into the Fitzy & Wippa radio show in Australia. "Your wedding, you know, everyone says, 'It's your day,' right? 'It's your day, you're the bride.' She's like, 'No, it's not.' You have to meet all these, you know, foreign dignitaries you've never met before." "It's so much pressure," she continued. "It's like, can you imagine having the worst wedding? That would suck." She also said that she doubted Markle would be able to invite her friends. "Her girls from high school aren't going to be there," she mused. "Like, my friends were all high and drunk at my wedding."
