Roxanne Perez was the first ROH Women's World Champion under the ring name Rok-C and trained at Booker T's school

ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Roxanne Perez won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge during WWE's NXT Deadline on Saturday, December 11, her career's first. The bizarre lineup of this special event included Perez, Cora Jade, Kiana James, Indi Hartwell, and Zoey Stark. Perez is also a Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion. While she celebrated her victory, there was someone else who felt too proud. WWE Hall of Fame Booker T cried after Perez won the match. 

The 21-year-old NXT champion was Booker T's student at his school Reality of Wrestling (ROW). The 57-year-old WWE legend was super hyped throughout the match and cried when Perez snatched the title. T's co-commentator, Vic Joseph, couldn't believe the outcome and was stunned as well. Talking about training under Booker T, Perez told 411 Mania, " I trained under Booker T when I was in the independent scene." She continued, "It’s a very nice set-up, kind of like NXT, and he taught me how to look at the cameras, and stuff like that. So when I came to NXT, it was a little bit easier to catch on to it and to learn that."

Who is Roxanne Perez?

Born on November 5, 2001, as Cara Gonzalez, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE on the NXT brand under the moniker Roxanne Perez. She has been an absolute rocker at Ring of Honor as she was the inaugural ROH Women's World Champion under the ring name Rok-C. Before winning her first Iron Survivor Challenge, she was a former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion.

As per Wrestling Inc, Booker T endorsed Perez the moment she signed with WWE. He said, "I talked to the WWE about her when she first signed and I said, 'This is one that we really got to protect. It's one that we really got to make sure we do the right things with,' because she is Lita 20 years from now going into the Hall of Fame. She is the one, she is special and I just think with the right hands on her, with me in her ear just trying to make sure she does the right things, and for her to be such a student of the game I see nothing but big things for Roxanne Perez. She's a diamond, man. She really is." Seeing the bond, some fans could only savor the beautiful moment.
