It was earlier reported that 'Southern Charms' alum Thomas Ravenel was arrested on charges of assault and battery at around 10 am Tuesday morning in Charleston County, S.C., as per inmate records. At the time, the circumstances around which the arrest was made hadn't been revealed, but new reports suggest the star was arrested for an alleged naked assault on his nanny.
Ravenel was arrested after a warrant was issued regarding the alleged incident in 2015 with his former nanny, who claimed he was naked and tried to force her to have sex with him, as per the court affidavit obtained by Us Weekly. The publication said the victim was “working for the defendant as a nanny” at the actor's home when the shocking incident allegedly occurred.
“While inside the location, the defendant undressed and made sexual advances on the victim,” the affidavit read. “The defendant grabbed the victim’s hand and placed it on his penis before attempting to remove the victim’s clothing. While attempting to remove the victim’s clothing, the victim’s underwire bra cut into her skin and her shirt wrapped around her neck, which caused the victim to struggle to breathe.’”
The document then said that Ravenel “pulled down the victim’s pants and said ‘Show me your p—y,’ and began grabbing the victim’s vagina.” As a result of that, “the victim crouched down to the ground to try and prevent further assault, the defendant then put his penis in her face and asked, ‘Do you like big dicks?’” the affidavit said.
“After escaping the assault, the victim called her then ex-husband and sister and told them of the incident, fled the scene and notified several family members of the incident,” the affidavit stated. “Photographs were then taken immediately of the injuries to her neck and chest.”
After news of Ravenel's arrest hit the roof, his ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis posted a picture on her Instagram indicating she was mainly concerned about focusing on her kids, and did not show much remorse for her former lover's situation. The 'Southern Charm' star shared an Instagram photo of her 4-year-old daughter, Kensie, and 2-year-old son, Saint, smiling on Tuesday, and the sweet snapshot was captioned, “Everything in life to me.”
After Ravenel's sexual assault claims hit the news, Dennis, in May, responded to the controversy. “Well, I’m waiting until the investigation is complete before I comment on anything,” she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live at the time. “Right now, my kids are my main focus.”
A lot of fans believe Dennis may have voiced her thoughts on the situation after she sent out a tweet on Tuesday about the importance of believing sexual assault victims. “People are on the side of the road with signs saying #believesurvivors in mount pleasant,” she wrote of the South Carolina city.
