Former NBA All-Star Cedric Ceballos tweeted a concerning picture of himself in a hospital with an oxygen mask over his head as he shared his bout with the Covid-19 virus.

Ceballos, who was an All-Star with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1994-95, tweeted Tuesday he was on his 10th day in the hospital battling the illness. Ceballos tweeted, "On my 10th day in ICU, COVID-19 is officially kicking my but, I am asking ALL family, friends , prayer warriors healers for your prayers and well wish for my recovery. If I have done and anything to you in the past, allow me to publicly apologize. My fight is not done….. Thx"

The update comes 11 days after Ceballos revealed via Instagram he had contracted COVID-19: "I have contracted COVID-19, I am out of the hospital and currently resting @ home. Hopefully I will get back to the best of health and quick recovery. When we have new dates [for his golf tournament] we will post, thank you for your understanding and God bless."

Ceballos didn’t mention how or where he could’ve gotten the illness or whether he was vaccinated. He was selected in the second round of the 1990 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns and was a part of the team that went up against the Chicago Bulls in the 1993 NBA Finals and lost. During his time in the NBA, Ceballos played for the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat. His career peaked with the Lakers in the 1994-95 season when he was named to the only All-Star team of his career. He also won the 1992 NBA Slam Dunk Contest and competed in the CBS series "The Amazing Race" with former Suns All-Star Shawn Marion in retirement.

Ceballos, who is the second cousin of the late Kobe Bryant, has encountered major health issues in the past as well. He has suffered a series of heart attacks in 2012 and required surgery to place two stents in his blocked arteries. Past heart issues are considered a risk factor for Covid-19 patients.
