'American Song Contest' Semifinals 1: Fans gush over Massachusetts' Jared Lee's powerful vocals

It's now or never for the semifinalists on 'American Song Contest', seeing that the show is now inching closer towards the grand finale. The semifinals are divided into two parts, with the first round featuring 11 artists performing the same original number again. The jury will then only send one artist to the final round. But in case you favourite doesn't make the cut, don't lose hope just yet!

The audience also has the power to vote for four other performances that will then make it to the finals. Taking on the stage in Semi-Finals 1 are Alabama – Ni/Co, Colorado – Riker Lynch. Kentucky – Jordan Smith, Massachusetts – Jared Lee, Michigan – Ada LeAnn, Montana – Jonah Prill, New Hampshire – MARi, Oklahoma – AleXa, Rhode Island – Hueston, Washington – Allen Stone and Wyoming – Ryan Charles.

Prior to his performance, Massachusetts' Jared Lee spoke about his career, having written for the likes of New Kids On The Block and more. This time around, he was glad to be the one in front of the mic, and NKOTB's Donnie Wahlberg even sent him a video, encouraging him to do his best on the same stage. And it he certainly pulled through, seeing that fans couldn't stop gushing about the singer-songwriter's vocals. "Extra points for Jared Lee just coming out on stage & letting the song be the focus.
