Katy Perry says Megan is 'giving vox'

Megan performed 'You Can’t Stop the Girl' from the Disney film, 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil'. Lionel praised Megan's performance and said, "That was a stellar performance. Your voice has gone to another level." Meanwhile, Katy complimented, "This is the most you’ve every stretched your vocals. You were giving us vox. Your confidence was on another level." Luke added, "You are a vocalist."

Luke also noted that Megan only got into the Top 26 by winning a sing-off. During the episode, Megan admitted that it was the first time that she and her mother visited Disneyland. Megan also wrote a sweet note for her mother. Megan shared that it was hard growing up as her father left them both.

'Megan Danielle is NOT a vocalist'

Megan's performance might have impressed the judges but the viewers didn't like her vocals. A social media user tweeted, "Megan Danielle is NOT a vocalist. an insult to ACTUAL vocalists, lol. @lukebryan delusional." Another Twitter user wrote, "I’m sorry but there’s no way Megan should win this show #americanidol."

Meanwhile, others shared their reactions on Instagram and said, "She ruined that song, so off-key 😒." Another person commented, "Megan is obviously talented, but sometimes she sounds like she needs to clear her throat and hock a good loogie before walking onstage. She'd do great on Miley songs, where that sound works." Another critic added, "This song suits Megan but with that slightly raspy voice."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
