LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megan Danielle gets a surprise that she will never be going to forget. During the 'American Idol' 2023 premiere, Danielle sings 'You Say', a song by Lauren Daigle. However, the contestant was left stunned when Grammy winner Lauren Daigle herself joined the stage to sing with her.

Megan Danielle, who previously appeared in The Voice season 18 and made it to the top 9, has already got the golden ticket to Hollywood. But the golden ticket was not the only thing that she got excited about. Danielle and 'American Idol' Season 21 judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie were stunned when the former Idol, Lauren Daigle, stepped in to sing with her. Luke Bryan and Katy Perry were left with their mouths wide open when they saw her.

Megan Danielle gets the surprise of a lifetime

Megan Danielle got the surprise of a lifetime from Grammy-winning singer Lauren Daigle. Danielle auditioned for the ABC show with Daigle's 2018 hit 'You Say'. Meanwhile, unbeknown to the contestant as well as the judges, host Ryan Seacrest reveals to Megan's mother that Daigle is actually on set, having performed a show in Las Vegas the night before. Megan's mother told the host, "Oh my God, she's gonna go crazy! I'm shaking." However, Daigle then comes and meets Ryan and jokes that the girl may not even know 'what I look like,' while Danielle's mother assures the singer, "She does, honey, she loves you!"

When Megan Danielle was singing her heart out, the two-time Grammy winner entered the audition room and joined her. Danielle stood stunned with the judges left in deep shock. Daigle and Danielle share a warm hug before Katy Perry says, "Only on American Idol!" Perry then insists both of them sing again. An interesting fact is that the grandfathers of Megan Danielle and Lauren Daigle both go by the name "Chuck". Moreover, Daigle revealed that Megan's story reminds her of her own. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan praised Megan's voice saying, "What you have is a real honest rawness it's like unpolished diamond stuff going on and I think when you start learning." He added, "when we start giving you confidence when you realize that you can really really do this. it's gonna be fine to watch you, girl."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
