The end of his marriage and the court cases that followed are the topics of a major new book. What about Amber Heard, though? Since the verdict of the defamation trial in Virginia last year, which found that she had slandered her ex-husband, she has stayed out of the public eye.

Amber Heard allegedly left Hollywood and relocated to Madrid, Spain. She has reportedly quit Hollywood and "quietly relocated to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh", as reported by Daily Mail.

'She’s happy, away from all the noise'

The outlet mentions a friend of hers, who said, "She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise." The friend also disclosed to the tabloid that the 37-year-old actress would eventually go back to Hollywood. According to the Daily Mail, the friend said, "I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project"

In July of last year, the 'Aquaman' actress sold her Yucca Valley, California, house for $1.1 million, nearly twice what she had originally paid. She has spent a lot of time in Spain since then. The 'Aquaman' actress was pictured in a bikini on Palma de Mallorca's beaches in October of last year. Then, in October, she and her girlfriend Eve Barlow were captured in a photo together on a beach in Majorca. She was thought to be residing on the island at the time in a rental home.

Days before, while on vacation in Spain, she was seen having fun with her 2-year-old daughter, Oonagh, at a playground. Since having her via surrogacy in July 2021, the mother of one has largely kept her child out of the spotlight. Nearly a year after her defamation trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard has allegedly moved to Spain.

Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for $50 million

The 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' actor sued his ex-wife and 'Aquaman' actress for $50 million in defamation almost three years after the world learned about the split of his marriage to Amber Heard. In response to an editorial the actress wrote for The Washington Post in mid-December of last year, the lawsuit claims that Ms Heard "is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator." Depp, 59, sued Heard in 2019 for $50 million, alleging that she had fabricated his abuse of her in order to increase the amount of their divorce settlement, as per Page Six.

Heard countersued Depp for $100 million a year later. The trial concluded in June 2022 with the court directing Heard to repay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages as well as $350,000 in monetary penalties for defaming the 'Cry Baby' star in the op-ed piece she wrote for The Post in 2018. Heard later argued that the jury's decision was unsupported by the evidence and asked the judge to throw out the jury's decision and order a new trial.

'No bees there'

The Internet became instantly sarcastic over Heard's decision of quitting Hollywood and moving to Spain. They took to Twitter to troll and roast the actress. One such fan wrote, "Amber Heard didn’t quit Hollywood, she was fired." A second Twitter user wrote, "Nope. Y’all would’ve crucified depp weekly if he was guilty. This is what she deserves." Someone else quipped, "No bees there." The critical comments kept poring in with one writing, "More like Hollywood quit taking Amber Heard, so she went to Madrid." "We got lucky for once, but poor people in Madrid, especially the guys she is going to date......" chimed in another.

One more Twitter user tweeted, "She didn’t quit. She was exposed for being a conniving fraud who falsely accused her innocent ex husband of DV & SV when she is the only abuser. It’s her worst nightmare to be shunned from Hollywood. To be exposed & hated by most of the world. Very well deserved. She won’t be missed." Another comment read, "You mean she got ran out of Hollywood and she’s fleeing from creditors. A story as old as Hollywood itself. Give her 5 years and she’ll be back with a hit show. A story also as old as Hollywood itself."
