After being accused of deleting vicious comments from one of her Instagram posts earlier this month, Amber Heard seems to have had enough of the negativity and finally ended up disabling public comments altogether on her social media account recently.

The 'Aquaman' actress has been facing backlash from people on social media, following a series of leaked audiotapes which proved that Heard was the one who domestically abused ex-husband Johnny Depp, and not the other way around as she had been suggesting since she filed for divorce in 2016.

After she was heard admitting to throwing objects at her former partner during their short-lived marriage - including a vodka bottle that severed the tip of his finger one time - people started calling her out for her lies. Initially, she took to filtering the comments that were posted on her Instagram account, which led many people to complain against it on the same platform.

“Keep deleting my comment,” one of the users wrote, while another opined, “Literally commented on her first ever post and it got deleted."

A third commented: "Stop deleting comments in English. I’m enjoying to read them. You can’t stop it, it will be more and more. Nothing will help you, people will never believe you. And all companies and organizations should stop dealing with you."

As campaigns to remove her as spokesperson of brands like L'Oréal and from future movie projects like  'Aquaman 2' have gathered steam, the actress disabled comments altogether from her Instagram posts around February 19. The message “comments on this post have been limited" is being displayed on many of her recent posts. However, a number of those posts do not have any comments on them.

In the explosive tapes acquired by Daily Mail - dating back to 2015 - Heard was reportedly caught confessing to hitting Depp and throwing pots and pans at him during their marriage. "You didn't get punched," she is heard saying in the tapes. "You got hit. I'm sorry I hit you like this. But I did not punch you. I did not f***ing deck you. I f***ing was hitting you. I don't know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you're fine, I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you."

Calling herself an "animal," she also warns in the tapes that "I can't promise you I won't get physical again."

Heard filed for divorce from Depp on May 23, 2016, and obtained a temporary restraining order against him, stating in her court declaration that he had been verbally and physically abusive throughout their relationship, usually while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Depp has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard.
